You are cordially invited to celebrate our 30th Anniversary! Friday, June 23, 2023 marked the anniversary of our maiden voyage down the mighty Mississippi River – make sure you’re on board to celebrate all 2023 long! The property has developed over the last three decades from the largest riverboat ever built in North America to a newly renovated resort property. Before we embark, take a ride through the history of our vibrant casino and hotel.

One of the earliest riverboat casinos in the region, the Casino Queen takes its maiden voyage down the Mississippi on June 23, 1993. Construction of the hotel began in 1998 and opened in January 2000. The 157-room Casino Queen hotel was the first major hotel built in East St. Louis in more than 40 years. In 2007, Casino Queen becomes the first of Illinois’ nine casinos to move landside, debuting a multi-million-dollar land-based gaming facility. Because of regulations, the gaming floor still needed to float, so the riverboat was housed in a basin filled with 340,000 gallons of water. The rest of the amenities, including restaurants, were built over dry land. The landside casino re-grand opening was celebrated on August 2, 2007. In partnership with digital sports entertainment and gaming company leader, the property is rebranded as DraftKings at Casino Queen in 2020. The partnership also kicked off plans for an expansion project to introduce a state-of-the-art DraftKings at Casino Queen Sportsbook and new dining promenade with a three-outlet food court and a full-service restaurant. The ten million dollar expansion and renovation wrapped in 2022. The current property now boasts five restaurants, a state of art DraftKings Sportsbook, lively gaming floor, 157 room hotel, and onsite RV park.
